Have you ever found your accent or nationality to be a problem or a bonus in Europe,or elsewhere.

Have you been treated with hostility or hospitality due to your nationality.

Thanks to my Scottish accent I have been welcomed in Italy in particular, and even had a free lunch, thanks to the owner's love of Scotland.

I remember once when I went to Bray in the Republic of Ireland they thought I was from Northern Ireland. Some people have told me that the Scottish talk like the Irish some times.

Indeed they do and on the far west coast of Ireland they can sound very Scottish.

yeah, I am german, and allthough I am fae Germany thrugh an through, people say that am a scottish lassie and they even say I talk scottish lol
